Inchies Challenge for Hero Arts

So there's an Inchies challenge this week at Hero Arts and I decided to mix a little bit of printed media with stamping media.

I created these circle backgrounds with different colors and sizes then printed them out on these cool translucent sheets (Michaels) that look like Vellum. I pasted them on 1inchx1inch squares of white cardstock (inchies) then stamped the Hero Arts Doodle Daisy in black on top. I then pasted them on black cardstock and cut a bit of a frame around each square. I also decided to use my own poetry to do a translucent sentiment printed out and stuck on top. This is the result:

more cards for Hero Arts Challenge

I decided to do another entry for the Hero Arts Challenge this week.

I used the water lily and did a black and white background card here:

I then decided to go colorful and make a dimensional water lily. I kinda like how it turned out:

Today I finished my Hero Arts Challenge for this week. The challenge was to use a stamp two different ways on two cards.

On my first card I used it as a background to contrast similar paper that I had purchased on my last trip to Victoria (British Columbia, Canada). The paper was from Fan Tan Art Gallery which is downtown.

Here is the first card:

I like how that turned out. I even used gold pen on the stamped flowers for more contrast.

The second card I used the stamp on "shrink it" and did the flower in different colors and then placed them on white ribbon. I then decided to shrink a butterfly image too. Here is this card:

I think they turned out pretty good. I haven't put in an entry for some time now so I'm kind of nervous.

Hello! Well I finally updated my blog and put some links on the side here. I've also set up a picture slideshow on top to my flicr account. I hope you all enjoy taking a peek there! :D

This is mainly a proud mom post, with a little..woah thrown in. On Monday here in Toronto we had a crazy hailstorm and the result was snow like hail (size of medium marbles) all over the place. I have a picture here:

Yesterday my daughter completed grade 10 and I am so very proud of her! I'm a little anxious though because in two years she'll be leaving me to go to college in British Columbia! Thankfully my mother lives there so she'll have some guidance, but it's coming too fast! :( I was lucky to help her with her first scrapbook page for her English ISU this year (Independant Study Unit) and this is the result:

I think it turned out pretty good for her first try!

Well that's about it for today. I might have some cards to post on Friday! :D
